12 synonym houses are included to help your students develop and grow their vocabulary when writing. We are carefully chosen words that are used commonly in students writing. Use for small groups (such as a reading group activity), fast finishers or as a cut and paste lesson.
How to use this resource:
Choose the synonyms you want your students to focus on.
Print the houses and the matching words.
Cut the words out and mix them up.
Place all the words face down and ask students to choose one and sort it on the correct house.
Challenge: Give students the black and white template to create their own.
Teacher Tip: These look great up on the classroom wall as a student led anchor chart.
