Spelling Pack | Bunting Flags & Worksheets | Grades 1-2

Within this package are a set of spelling activity bunting flags to display in the classroom and BLM’s to support each activity flag for students in Years 1 and 2.

We have bolded and underlined the verbs on the worksheets to prompt students on ‘what’ they need to do for each task or activity. We have also included a recording chart that you may want to use throughout the year to keep track of the activities students are choosing and completing. All tasks are designed to assist in engaging each student by catering for a range of abilities and learning styles.

Differentiation:

We have grouped the activities according to difficulty in order to allow for differentiation as well as guiding students to the correct level of activity for them. Blue, Aqua and Purple flags are easier tasks that everyone in the classroom can attempt successfully. Orange and Yellow flags require a little more application of spelling skills and the Red and Pink flags are higher order thinking tasks (or challenging tasks).

We have created a variety of activities that can be used with any spelling list or multiple spelling lists. Activities are perfect to use during Literacy groups or spelling lessons and provide an opportunity for student choice and voice in the classroom.

No further teacher prep needed, simply print and use!
