How to make the most of this lesson:

This lesson has been a HUGE hit in my classroom! We focused on partitioning in non-standard form, starting with concrete materials and then transitioning to these hopscotch templates as a follow-up activity. Not only did students enjoy the movement, but the hopscotch games allowed me to assess their independent understanding.

For added convenience, I printed each hopscotch on different colored paper and laminated them. Students loved jumping on the hopscotch while practicing their skills. We even keep the hopscotch templates set up at the back of the room for fast finisher activities – the kids can't get enough of them!
